Non-Fiction Resources
Non-fiction resources are chosen to support the curriculum.
- The Non-fiction collection has all items interfiled with Reference, videos, DVDs, magazines, books and CD ROMs housed according to Dewey Decimal number.
- Reference resources include encyclopedias, dictionaries, year books, almanacs, street directories and atlases. These cannot be borrowed.
- Location in the Search Catalogue is Peel
- Spine labels will have a call number (Dewey Number and 3 letters of either Author's surname or title)

Fiction Resources

Fiction resources are chosen to support the interest and age of our patrons.
- The Fiction collection consists of books, videos, DVDs, CDs are arranged in alphabetical order by authors and cover a wide range of themes and genres.
- DVDs are housed in locked cases that need to be unlocked to access the disk/s
- Spine labels will have a call number (F and 3 letters of either Author's surname or title)
- Patrons are encouraged to suggest and recommend titles for purchase

Reserve Collection
Reserve resources are those non-fiction items that are in great demand.
- Textbooks and items set for assignments reading are shelved at the back of the library.
- Location in the Search Catalogue is Peel Reserve and spine labels will have coloured see-through contact and a special sticker attached.
- Items can be used in the library
- Items can be borrowed during the day for 2 hour periods
- Items can be borrowed overnight from 2pm and must be returned by 9am the following day

ClickView
ClickView resources are chosen and taped to support the curriculum.
- ClickView collection is accessible from MSC student and staff networks and has over 2,500 titles as of November, 2008
- Patrons may view programs and resources via the network or copy programs to a 'school bag' to take home to view
- Staff may develop composite programs and have own videos, power point presentations and widgets added to the Department listings
- Patrons may copy small snippets and embed these into powerpoint presentations, blogs, wikis or web pages

Newspapers and Magazines
Newspapers and Magazines (Journals) are chosen to support both the curriculum and patron interests.
- Newspapers - The Australian, The West Australian, and Mandurah papers are displayed on the newspaper stand near the Fiction area.
- Periodicals (Journals/Magazines) - current issues are displayed on the periodical stands and cannot be borrowed. Back copies of journals are shelved on the non-fiction shelves in Dewey Decimal order in boxes organized by date (year/month/week

Digital Equipment
Equipment may be borrowed for use on campus and during a class period. Bookings may be made for an equipment loan.
- Cameras - six cameras are available for loan on campus and during a class period. The cameras save to floppy disks, memory sticks or CD-RW media.
- Video Camera - video camera utilizes mini DVD disks. Videos can be played back on TVs by using cables, or DVD players. They can also be viewed by placing the DVD disks in DVD compartments of a computer.
- Digital Projector - projectors are used with either computers or videos to project the pictures onto a screen. Two projectors are available for use by students and staff on campus. A fixed projector system is available in the Seminar Room.
- Scanners - we request your courtesy and consideration for others when scanning documents. The Toshiba photocopier can be used to scan documents onto one of the 4 special short-term use computers. There is a video tutorial (icon on desktop) available on each of the computers to show the procedure.
- Laptop - 3 laptops for use by patrons. These may be used individually either on the MSC student network or as standalones. Please enquire re the login and password for the latter use.
- MP3 Recorders/Players - 3 recorders/players available for use. They have an Orientation of the Library program installed for students and staff to hear.
- Tape Recorders - 22 small recorders for use by students and staff. Patrons need to provide their own tape/s.
