The Arts
The Arts Department at Mandurah Senior College is a vibrant
energetic and noisy area that encompasses subjects such as Music, Dance, Drama,
Design, Photography and Visual Arts. These are critical
activities that involve challenging stereotypical attitudes, taking creative
risks, embracing healthy expression and work practices as well as being
reflective and responsive.
Our students will be the making and reflection of our future
culture. By developing their abilities in the arts, students become key
participants in the shaping of social, cultural and economic life, and they
learn to recognise a genuine responsibility to the community.
Our graduating students will be well placed to face the
unpredictable, stimulating and invigorating challenges ahead with the knowledge
that they are in a position to mould and shape that future.
All of the staff that teach in these areas in the college are
professionals in their practical fields. They have the
experience and recognition in the real world, and bring these networks and
respect into the classroom. Thus Arts students are provided with
opportunities to value, participate in and gain recognition in the local arts
community from within their school context.
All this results in fun, real activities that
encourage artistic and social expression.
Be apart of the
cultural future of our society!
